APS Frameworks
In his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey suggests we need maps to know where we are going, but also how we will get there. APS Frameworks support that purpose. They articulate what is required of APS employees, and they also describe how the APS will undertake its work. The aim of this course is to provide an increased awareness of the types of frameworks within the APS and why they are important to what we do. This content has been developed in conjunction with the APSC. -
Administrative Decision Making
Making good administrative decisions that are consistent with legal and policy frameworks is an essential skill. Examine legal authorities that make decisions and the responsibilities of administrative decision-makers. Work through case studies and scenarios to identify, interpret and apply legislation in making decisions and examine how decisions can be reviewed. -
Appearing Before Parliamentary Committees
Appearing before parliamentary committees takes an in-depth look at parliamentary committees that scrutinise decisions and the information flow between the APS, the parliament and the public.
